A STATEMENT FROM THE THEATER BUG

The Theater Bug is so excited to invite you to join our young writers and actors in celebrating the premier of Quaranteened: A Virtual Musical, presented in partnership with MA2LA. The show will be streamed for free at 7pm on June 12, 2020, from www.thetheaterbug.org and will include a behind the scenes interview with some of the writers and actors as well as a surprise from The Theater Bug's Artistic Director, Cori Anne Laemmel. The show will be available for purchase and rental immediately following the event.

We recognize the responsibility of our platform as an arts organization and wish to make a commitment for furthered social justice based advocacy efforts and racial equity within our organization by:

1. Enacting a listening campaign among students, and engaging in critical conversations among Theater Bug stakeholders about race, anti-racism, equity and justice at bi-annual community meetings hosted by The Theater Bug's Board of Directors.

2. Teaching advocacy as well as art, starting with a $500 donation to Gideon’s Army taken from the proceeds of Quaranteened.

3. A commitment to change in a changing world, realizing that the advocacy efforts made by our organization today, will need to evolve as we learn and grow as a community.

We hope that you will join us in celebrating these inspiring young voices.
